  11.                    Who is Watchman Fellowship?
  12.  
  13. Watchman Fellowship is a Christian ministry which serves the
  14. Christian and secular community as a resource for cult education,
  15. counselling, and intervention.
  16.  
  17. Watchman Fellowship began in 1979 and now has representatives in 9
  18. cities in 7 states.  We have served almost every denomination
  19. including Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopal, Assemblies
  20. of God, Church of God, Lutheran, Nazarene, etc., as well as
  21. schools, law enforcement agencies and civic groups.

  23. Watchman Fellowship, Inc. believes that religious freedom is an
  24. important and precious right in our country.  The right to worship
  25. is and should be constitutionally protected.  But, freedom of
  26. worship does not mean total freedom of practice.  For instance,
  27. Satanists are free to believe whatever they want, but they are not
  28. allowed to practice human or animal sacrifice.

  30. Also, there are many groups operating which engage in the use of
  31. deception, fraud, manipulation, coercion, control, and
  32. exploitation.  The constitutionally protected right of free speech
  33. serves as a check and balance against these abuses.
  34.  
  35. When deception, control, and fraud are present, a person's freedom
  36. of choice is undermined.  It is always right to publically and
  37. privately expose these practices.  The one exposing has the
  38. responsibility to be accurate.

  40. Watchman Fellowship has a principled commitment to accuracy.
  41.  
  42. Concerning a person's right to choose, we believe that a real
  43. choice is one based on access to all the information, and
  44. understanding both or all sides.  As Christians, we do believe that
  45. "we are our brother's keeper."
  46.  
  47. The cults typically try to block their members from having access
  48. to this information.  We have found that most cults have used
  49. deception, control, cover up, and dishonesty with their own members
  50. and the people they are trying to convert.  This deception includes
  51. some or all the following:  the group's history, false prophesy,
  52. false scholarship, a distortion of true church history and
  53. doctrine, and destructive practices of the group.

  56.                   Watchman Fellowship Doctrine

  58. The Watchman Fellowship hold to these foundational truths of
  59. God's Word:
  60.  
  61. 1)   The Bible, inerrant as originally given, is God's verbally
  62.      inspired, complete relevation to mankind.
  63.  
  64. 2)   There is one God, who is infinitely holy and perfect,
  65.      existing eternally in the Persons of the Father, the Son,
  66.      and the Holy Spirit.

  68. 3)   We accept the virgin birth, earthly miracles, sinless life,
  69.      substitutionary death on the cross, bodily resurrection,
  70.      ascension, and literal second coming of our Lord Jesus
  71.      Christ.

  73. 4)   The Holy Spirit is the Divine Person sent to indwell, guide,
  74.      empower and sanctify the believer, and thus to bear witness
  75.      of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  77. 5)   The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord
  78.      Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood and are born
  79.      again of the Holy Spirit.

  81. 6)   There will be a resurrection of both the saved and the lost,
  82.      the first to everlasting life and the second to everlasting
  83.      punishment.
